May 11th-May 18th 

The following tasks are to be completed by Monday, May 18th. You can do them in any order that you would like. The approximate time to complete your assignments are listed to help you plan your week. Remember to check out Mrs. MacEachern and Ms. Van Leeuwan’s Music and Gym Blogs for weekly activities! 

Literacy	Time- 3 hours
Creative Story Writing:      -Write a story about “A Magic Carpet”        -Draw and write about what you would do if you had a magic carpet	(60 min)
Keyboard Exploration -Task: Write an email to your teacher using your gmail account  -Question: Write an email to your teacher about your favorite activity to do during Spring!	(60 min)
Reading   -Read on Raz Kids and complete at least 3 quizzes	(30 min)
Words of the Week Practice the new words of the week! Write detailed sentences	(30 min)
Optional: Virtual Field Trip (Zoo) -watch more videos about the animals at the Calgary Zoo

 

Numeracy	Time 2 hours
2D Shapes -Draw a picture of your house using only basic 2D shapes	(15 min)
Measurement Warm Up:  -find things in your house that are larger than or smaller than a given object	(15 min)
Measurement: -Measure how tall you and your family members are using something in your house	(30 min)
Numberless Word Problems -4 questions to answer in a google form	(30 min)
Subtraction Questions -Match the question to the picture shown	(30 min)
Optional:  -Practice using various strategies to solve subtraction problems to 20
